Lo Que Nos Hace Humanos

This painting was inspired by The Polo Method™ by Luis Felipe Polo and by my experience working with the team behind it.

Like many people, I used to hear conversations about artificial intelligence through the lens of fear. Would technology eventually replace us? What would happen to the things that make us human?

Working alongside AI made me see those questions differently. What stayed with me wasn't the technology itself, but the people. I experienced a culture where everyone's strengths were recognized, different ways of thinking were valued, and technology became a tool that helped us create and collaborate in new ways.

When I started painting this piece, I realized I didn't want the phone to compete with the coral reef. I wanted them to exist together.

To me, the coral reef represents the living ecosystem within us—our creativity, empathy, relationships, and everything that continues to shape who we are. The phone represents the tools we create to extend our abilities.

The more I thought about it, the more it reminded me of a coral reef. It isn't one organism that makes the reef thrive, but the relationships between all of them.

Maybe that's true for the future we're building too.
