Inner Landscape Series

Vanitas del Tiempo reimagines the classical tradition of vanitas painting through the visual language of my Inner Landscape Series.

Historically, vanitas works used objects — fruit, flowers, skulls, timepieces — to reflect on life’s transience. In this piece, those elements remain, but they are no longer arranged around a subject as symbols to be decoded. They are integrated into her.

A blue figure stands composed, her interior unfolding outward in layers of color and texture. Fruit and blooms emerge from her structure. A skull rests quietly among them. A clock occupies the center of her vision. Time is not positioned as something external — it lives within her field of sight.

There is sweetness and sharpness in the composition. Growth and memory coexist. What once felt fleeting becomes embedded. What once marked her becomes form.

A crown is hidden within the upper layers of the painting. It does not dominate the scene. It reveals itself slowly, inviting a second look.

Like a coral reef, she is formed by accumulation. Experiences do not disappear; they settle, transform, and become architecture.

Within the Inner Landscape Series, each figure is imagined as an ecosystem — layered, intimate, and alive. This work continues that exploration, suggesting that time does not diminish us. It shapes us.
