Fleeting Beauty

In "Fleeting Beauty," the magnolia unfolds its delicate form, a vibrant yet temporary presence against the Civil War history of Fort C.F. Smith. Like moments in time, the bloom is fleeting, a contrast to the enduring ground upon which it emerges. Yet, just as new life has taken root where fortifications once stood, the painting whispers that even in passing, beauty offers a powerful testament to the enduring cycle of renewal and the promise of healing, much like the care Culmore Clinic provides.

This painting was created live for Culmore Clinic as part of their Spring Fundraiser - “ A Work of Heart” held on May 3rd, 2023 at The Hendry House in Arlington, VA. The Clinic wanted a painting inspired by the location, and the magnolia trees on the property seemed just right. They bloom so beautifully for just a little while before fading - it felt like a colorful way to capture the idea of time passing.
