This painting was commissioned as a gift — a portrait of a cabin tucked into the Canadian wilderness, a place the couple returns to for rest, reconnection, and retreat.
Rather than creating a strict architectural rendering, I approached the piece as an emotional landscape. The winding stairway rising through the greenery became central — an invitation upward, into stillness. The cabin is partially hidden, embraced by trees, protected by nature rather than exposed to it.
Light filters softly through the leaves, suggesting the quiet rhythm of mornings without urgency and evenings where time expands.
Wilderness Wonderland is not simply about a structure in the woods. It is about sanctuary — a place where shared memories accumulate over time, where life slows down enough to be felt.
